Security and data protection
LaaynHR records workforce data, including location and, where enabled, facial-recognition data. This page states plainly what the product can capture, who decides what is switched on, and what we will put in writing during an evaluation.
Who controls the data
The employer deploying LaaynHR decides what is collected, from whom and for how long. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, that employer acts as the Data Fiduciary. LAAYN Technologies Pvt. Ltd. processes workforce data on the employer's instructions as a Data Processor. Employees exercise their rights through their employer, who can pass a request to us.
What the product can capture
Depending on configuration: check-in, check-out and break timestamps; GPS coordinates and the geo-fence result at the moment of a punch; a selfie and facial-recognition match where face verification is enabled; leave, work-from-home and regularisation requests; assigned tasks and their status; site-visit records; and messages sent through the in-app chat. Which of these are enabled, and for which groups of employees, is set by the employer during configuration — not by us.
Biometric and location data
Facial recognition and geo-fencing are optional modules. Where an employer enables them, we recommend that the employer issues its own notice to employees explaining what is captured and why, and obtains consent in line with the DPDP Act. We will support that with the technical detail of exactly what the product stores.
Retention and deletion
Retention periods are set in the employer's configuration and contract. On written instruction from the employer we will delete or export workforce records. We do not retain customer workforce data for our own purposes.

What we will share during a security review
On request we will answer a written security questionnaire covering hosting and deployment model, encryption in transit and at rest, access control and administrative access, backup and recovery, sub-processors, incident handling, and DPDP roles and responsibilities. We answer these in writing rather than publishing summary claims here. LAAYN Technologies Pvt. Ltd. does not currently advertise any security certification, and will not claim one it does not hold.
